Outward
HEIGHT: 1.6 m [5'3”]
WEIGHT: 54.4-56.6 kg [120-125 lbs]
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Though she has no scars or tattoos, Hannah does have a belly button ring she acquired recently after giving in to some coaxing by her Muggle university friends. She also tends to bruise very easily, so it is not uncommon to see one on her.
APPEARANCE: Hannah is a petite-framed individual with a natural buoyant sort of step, as if her whole body exudes the emotions she feels, which are usually some variant of pleasure. Though in possession of enough curves to keep her figure from being in any way boyish, due to her taste for sweets and her lack of interest in athletics, she is far from well-endowed or even as generously curvy as she might like. Her naturally wavy, honey-blonde hair is usually cut almost to her mid-back but can appear shorter if the waves are curlier due to humidity. Her bright blue eyes are generally alive with the sparkle of good humor to match the often-seen pale pink flush of her cheeks. Hannah is girly, but not excessively so, and that is reflected in her style of dress, which can range from ultra-feminine dresses to jeans and a hooded pullover. While she does love her trainers she has a slight addiction to heeled shoes that currently has her closets swelling.
HABITS: Plucking at her lip when in thought; twirling the ends of her hair around her fingers when thinking or worried; having mini-meltdowns in stressful situations when she cannot compulsively shoe shop

Inward
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Friendly, kind, intelligent, optimistic
PERSONALITY: Hannah is an incredibly sweet, friendly person with an enormous heart. She hates conflict, so the conflict that Voldemort's return brought to the world and those she knew and/or cared about was very hard on her even before her mother's death. She has always tried to see the best in everything and though she learned early in life not to offer up her thoughts to anyone who was not extremely close to her for fear of being scolded or made fun of, she does often wonder if 'bad people' such as the Death Eaters might have had real reasons for what they do. She tends to humanize even the most terrible things and the worst of people, though losing her mother to the actions of a Death Eater or a group – she still isn't sure – has made her slightly less questioning and understanding than she once was.

The ability to embrace both her wizarding and Muggle roots and the world attached to them is a pretty accurate example of her personality as a whole. She rarely rejects things or experiences without giving them a chance first. People, however, are a slightly different matter as she is somewhat prone, despite an almost innate sense of fairness and justice, to following others when it comes to people. Though that is a problem, she has always been willing to make up for a mistake with a person (for example, judging Harry unfairly as the heir of Slytherin and then later supporting him when she realized her error).

Though she is very bright, Hannah often suffers from performance anxiety which impedes this. She knows what she is doing and can even remember the most inane things when relaxed and unpressured, but the moment she feels something is expected of her, she freezes, does something radically different from what she intended or simply dissolves into tears. Helping Harry on the train was not something she felt pressured to do, so it came easily to her, but her O.W.L. examinations made her so nervous and distraught she ended up with flamingos for a test result in Transfiguration, a subject she is admittedly not that good in but can still do with careful study and concentration. This heightened stress under pressure extends beyond academic, though then it is usually relieved with a splurge on something she likes. While she is not annoyingly girly to the point of shopping obsession, she does find that picking out new items of her favorite things relaxes her.

While she is not lazy when it comes to her work ethic, she does have a tendency to be a bit lazy when it comes to play. She prefers inside games, wizarding (chess) and Muggle (board games), to outdoor activities such as sports; she would much rather scream her throat raw cheering for a Quidditch match then fly in one any day. She is not completely a couch-potato, as she loves to dance to one of her addictions, Muggle music, and does enjoy walks – not hikes – in scenic places and on holidays.
STRENGTHS: Kindness – by far her greatest asset is her giving, good-humored nature as she is easily befriended, a steadfast and loyal friend once won and will even help people she does not necessary care for if she believes they are not getting fair treatment; tenacity – for someone who is so sweet, Hannah can be remarkable persistent about many things, from her views on the divide between wizards and Muggles to her friendships – a friend made is rarely a friend lost
WEAKNESSES: Kindness – despite her natural kindness being an obvious asset, it is also quite a big weakness as it means she is easily manipulated when she believes she is doing something good for another, following a friend with an erroneous belief and being far too understanding of everyone, including those who are generally known to be 'bad/evil'; indulgence – Hannah does not always moderate herself, whether it is sweets such as chocolate frogs or her favorite obsessions such as shoes and Muggle music, and looking to her father for such moderation isn't always successful either as he is happy to give her what she wants when he can
IQ: Above average though hard work makes her appear even more intelligent
EXTROVERT/INTROVERT: Definite extrovert in all ways
PHOBIAS/FEARS: The Death Eater(s) responsible for killing her mother, losing her father,
MENTAL HEALTH: Excellent, though she had a brief bout of depression after her mother was killed.

Her Story
CHILDHOOD HOME:
HISTORY:Born at the height of the first wizarding war, Hannah's first two years of life were surprisingly sheltered, or perhaps the surprising part was that she was sheltered due to being the child of a Muggleborn, Teaghan Fitzpatrick Abbott, and a pureblood Death Eater, Dominic Abbott. Her parents attended Hogwarts together but never spoke because of the beliefs and cause Dominic supported at the time. It was only after they graduated and met again several years later, Dominic working for the Ministry and disillusioned by the path he had chosen, and Teaghan working for St. Mungos and eager to show Dominic a new way of seeing the world, that the two fell in love, eventually married and had Hannah despite the danger inherent in the actions.

After the war's end, Hannah's childhood was idyllic, full of the slightly extravagant, such as fun holidays, as well as the simplest of things, such as being curled up between her mother and father in bed while Teaghan told stories drawn from all sorts of Muggle and wizarding sources. That was something Hannah never truly outgrew even as the years went on and became something greatly missed once her Hogwarts letter arrived and she was off to school.

At Hogwarts, Hannah was sorted into Hufflepuff, though she did have a short time of worry that her parents would be disappointed she did not follow them by being sorted into Ravenclaw. They were not and though Hannah took to her studies, she did not display the fierce hunger for knowledge that most of that house often showed. Hufflepuff was far better suited to her and it was there she became fast friends with Ernie Macmillan.

Her second year would be the first time Hannah would come to know true fear for her safety when one by one, those of “impure” blood began to fall. Hannah had happily embraced both sides of her heritage from a young age, finding delight in both magic and Muggle things, and while she had always been aware of the trials and former dangers of being a Muggleborn or having Muggle blood, it was this that made her face the reality that some people would want to harm her just because the grandparents she adored were Muggle. There was no parents there to protect her and while she knew she was far from alone, Hannah realized that her father or mother would not always be able to keep her in the safe cocoon she had grown up in. It was out of fear that she followed the status quo in labeling Harry the heir of Slytherin because a named threat was better than the unknown, though she often speculated to herself about what might motivate him and eventually realized she had to be wrong about what she thought.

Her third year was worrisome in its own right with Sirius Black on the loose and she was always quite sad no one believed her theory on him being able to transform into a flowering shrub. Unknown to her, she actually was not so crazy for thinking ti as most thought, considering the man was Animagus. It was fourth year, however, that brought Hannah's first truly terrible experience, the death of her housemate and longtime crush, Cedric Diggory – after all, what Hufflepuff girl didn't have one on the boy at one time or another? She had supported him wholeheartedly all year, despite thinking Harry quite nice and very brave, as she very much wanted to support her house and Cedric. Seeing him brought out dead was very traumatic for her and her mother had to help her through it over the summer holiday, especially with her father not home as often due to work, or so Hannah was told.

Being named prefect in her fifth year was amazing to Hannah, as she finally felt as though she could do something to see that conflict did not arise so often for those she was fond of in her house and outside it. That naivete gave way to a subdued sort of determination as she realized being a prefect was more about maintaining the norm than changing it. Joining the DA, however, gave her that sense of “doing something” that being a prefect couldn't, as she was learning how to defend herself. Of course, to Hannah, she saw defense as more of a last resort than an immediate reaction. Her fifth year was a learning year as again the view she took was changed, just as it was when she, along with several other friends and members of the DA, were quick to offer aide on the train ride home. For Hannah, it was the least she could do for Harry after once thinking him the Heir of Slytherin and then having him teach all of them the skills they might need to survive. It was also a valuable lesson in learning that sometimes acting first is better than thinking and talking and compromising.

Barely two weeks into her sixth year, Hannah's life changed forever when she was pulled from class and led to the Headmaster's office where her father Dominic awaited her to tell her of the death of her mother at the hands of the Death Eaters. Though her father had no explanation for her over the senseless act of violence, there was actually an explanation and it was one Hannah would not guess on her own. That day, Dominic pulled Hannah from school and sent her to live with her mother's parents in Ireland. Due to the Irish school system allowing for education to be conducted in the home, Hannah did not have to attend secondary school or provide a cover for her secondary education and so entered university to keep her occupied instead of stayed shut up in her grandparent's house in mourning. Muggle schooling was chosen as Hannah tried to do magic on the day of her mother's funeral, to change the colors of one of the flower arrangements from one her mother had hated to a color she had loved and Hannah found she could not. Her magic seemed gone and Dominic, rather than bringing in magic tutors that might only upset Hannah further, encouraged the Muggle education instead, though never voiced all his reasons for a choice others would have found odd.

For several months, Hannah was unable to do magic and feared she had suddenly turned into a Squib, not really understanding that her emotional devastation about her mother could render her unable to do magic. Shortly after Christmas, when she was able to spend several weeks away with her father on holiday, she found her magic had returned. Though she was still attending a Muggle university, her father hired a private tutor for her to continue her magical studies as he did not want her to miss out on any opportunities.

While the war raged, Hannah remained safely but sometimes unhappily tucked away in Ireland. She missed her mother and rather than have her father to rely on, he was often busy with “work” and unwilling to allow her to return home. Though she was at times discontent, tutoring was actually quite the boon for Hannah, who was learning in an environment that was far less anxiety-inducing. Unfortunately for Hannah, the tutor she quite liked eventually joined the war efforts and was replaced with several part time individuals, including her former Astronomy professor at Hogwarts. It eventually turned out well as she built a closer connection with Aurora Sinistra and was able to learn from several witches and wizards quite skilled in their fields, earning her N.E.W.T.s with a much better showing than her O.W.L.s.

Though the war was over, Hannah's father was not ready for her to come home, obviously still worried about the still-free Death Eaters but unable to tell Hannah that was the reason. Instead, he encouraged her to finish her degree, which she completed in the spring of 1999. Once that was done, she convinced him to let her come home. Now she is looking to reconnect with old friends and find a place for herself in the wizarding world once more, hopefully doing something that helps bridge the gap between the two worlds she has come to love.

Astrological
SIGN: Hufflepuff Libra (cusp)
Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac and governs the kidneys, lower back, and buttocks. Positive traits include a rational, logical mind, a fine sense of aesthetics, diplomatic aplomb, good taste, charm, skill with words, intelligence, an innate sense of fairness and justice, and exceptional beauty. Negative characteristics include indecisiveness, excessive dependence on other people, conformist tendencies, manic depression, extravagance, and manipulation.

Libras sorted into House Hufflepuff are some of the sweetest, most charming individuals you will ever meet. They work hard at their studies compared to other Libras (most Libras would rather coast on their strengths than apply themselves to all their subjects) and are often quite successful. Physically, however, they remain unathletic and lazy - the closest they'll ever get to a Quidditch match is the spectator's box, and that only if the weather is pleasant. Anything beautiful and harmonious appeals to the Hufflepuff Libra. Since potions and alchemy require an instinctive awareness of the harmony of ingredients, Hufflepuffs who are Libras display a surprising facility in these subjects. These wizards live to help other people, and to help their friends get along with each other; nothing hurts them more than to see people in distress or bickering with each other. Feuds and wars between wizards distress them. Equally distressing is the disharmony between Muggles and magic users. Many Hufflepuff Libras become Muggle specialists, hoping to bridge the gap between magical and non-magical.
